Today was a tough day with everyone being tired, stressed and generally not in the best mood. The day started with us packing up our Airbnb, which sadly presented a lot of issues. The location – right in the old port of La Rochelle, couldn’t be better and the space was big, but that’s where the positives ended. Long story short, the apartment was in such poor state, with sink falling off the wall, toilet and shower not working, cat hair and refuse all over the place, the host didn’t provide any towels or sheets …pretty much a disaster! Especially considering how much we paid expecting something a lot nicer. We’ve been arguing with the host and Airbnb for the past 2 days trying to fix the issues and get some of our money back, so this added a lot of unnecessary stress.

Kids are not getting enough sleep and Sophie is skipping naps as we’re on the move all the time – this is resulting in tied cries and tantrums. Today is definitely a point where we questioned our idea to travel with 3 kids many times!

Needless to say, we are a bit broken, but we’ve now made our way to Sarlat and are staying out for the next 8 days, so hopefully tomorrow will be a better day! Our house is gorgeous, which is a great start!
