The Marqueyssac gardens (Les Jardins de Marqueyssac)

We’re continuing to explore the beautiful Dordogne region. Did you know it’s home to more than 1001 castles? We may not have the time (or energy) to visit each one, but we have start somewhere.

Our first visit was to the Chateau de Marqueyssac and the breathtaking gardens that surround it.

Impressive view of the valley over the perfectly manicured gardens
Aleks is into it
On the way up to the gardens, it was a steep climb!
With waterfalls along the way
And bushes trimmed in the shape of blocks
Kids found their own shortcuts and secret trails
We had to take turns carrying a very tired baby up the hill in 30 degree heat
The view from the to was worth it!
Yeay! We are at the top!
Tired but still silly at the end of the hike
