Day…what day is it?

Too many things to share! We had several epic adventures over a few days. First of all we took the older kids 16 km down the river Dordogne in a Kayak, stopping by little beaches for a swim or a picnic. The scenery was breathtaking, we passed by several castles and cliffs

We’re all ready to row!
We got past the first bridge, and our boat went spinning around, but we managed to stabilise it
Our favourite sandy beach along the river
Aleks and his tricks
Sites along the way
We called these weeds in the river “crocodiles”
The diving spot
Breathtaking views!

I have to say, this was probably one of our most favourite activities of the whole trip. It was so pleasant to cruise along the banks and discover little surprises, for example a ripe blackberry bushes, cliffs, chateaus, beaches. Aleks and I loved the huge tree that we could dive from into the river! I would do it all again and just pack a big picnic.

Our next adventure took us on a 26 km bike ride along “voie verte”, it’s a dedicated cycling path that was built on top of the old train tracks, so it’s perfect to ride with the kids, as there is little to no traffic on the trail. Aleks heroically endured the journey – it was a hot day and a few hills and we were very happy we made a decision to put Maia on a back seat of an electric bike, made things so much easier! Sophie stayed at the house with Inna as we rode from Rouffilac to Groljac and back.

Very quaint path
Maia loved it!
We made it to this beautiful lake of Grolejac
A proper swim was a reward for everyone before we started our journey back
A quick lunch at a local camp ground, it’s funny that their main salad had foie gras on toast, again! 😂

This also was a fabulous outing that all of us enjoyed and will remember for a long time.
