Pyla Sur Mer

Distance driven today 285km (177 miles)

Total distance 1915km (1190 miles)

Time to change things up! After 8 days in Sarlat, we packed up our stuff and drove to Bordeaux airport to drop off Inna and then continue to the town of Pyla Sur Mer, which is situated in the Arcachon Bay.

It captured our hearts quickly with its sandy beaches, pine forests, lazy streets and warm climate.

Weโ€™re so excited to be here! Dinner on the beach on the first night

The kids spent the whole evening digging and jumping from the border into the soft powdery sand.

The next morning we went to the beach
It was spectacular! Water was quite warm.
Beach fun

I would love to have a holiday home here, just need to save up 3-4 mln ๐Ÿ˜”

The next day we explored the Dune of Pilat, which is the biggest pile of sand in Europe! Now this probably wins as my favourite experience of the trip, even though I was sick and had a temperature, just couldnโ€™t miss this natural wonder.

The climb was steep, but even Sophie crawled up with determination (before asking to be carried).

Bebe climbing the Dune
Made it to the ridge
Another attempt at the jumping photo
Now time for play in the sand
Needless to say, sand was Everywhere!
The trip down was a lot easier ๐Ÿ˜‰
The reward!
Back at the house
And the pool, of course
After 2 days in Pyla, we celebrated at La Coorniche. The views of the sunset were spectacular
Watching the sunset
We hope to be back!
